The beginners course normally lasts two months but membership can continue for however long you would like it to thereafter.

You will learn basic techniques and decorate what you have made. You will get your own shelf, a firing allowance and tuition. All your clay, materials, and firings are included and you can borrow our tools. We also have a library of reference books for techniques and ideas. You will be guided through the process at each stage. It is very relaxed and calm. Suzy Holding from the Best Before Cafe said that “ Vasanta Hall is like a hug from your mum”. That’s what we want it to feel like.

If you wish to continue, you set up a standing order for a month in advance for as long as you want to. You invest in your own tools, books and materials if you want something we don’t have. When you want to leave, you just let us know so we can make sure all your work is fired and ready to take home. Anyone already attending workshops has their space automatically reserved.

We know those with shift patterns or family commitments may have trouble with a regular day so we do aim to be flexible with some members coming on different days of the week where they can. We also operate a swap system so that if you can’t make one session, you can either swap to another or take clay home. Please talk to us.
